Admissions
Thunderbird Adventist Academy although established primarily for the youth of the Seventh-day Adventist Church will allow any young person of high school level who desires a character-building education and is willing to support the standards of the school to apply.
ELIGIBILITY TO APPLY
To be eligible to apply to Thunderbird Adventist Academy, the applicant must satisfy one of the following conditions at the time of enrollment:
- Show evidence of completion of eighth grade with passing grades in English and math and have a composite score of at least 50% on a national or state recognized standardized achievement test.
- Transfer from an approved secondary school, with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.0 and have a composite score of at least 50% on a national or state recognized standardized achievement test.
- Be at least 14 years of age before August 15 of the current school year and pass a placement test, with at least 90%.
THE APPLICATION PROCESS
1. Applicants and their parents must:
- Read the Student Handbook and complete application forms.
- Schedule an interview with the Principal.
- Complete an approved financial plan.
2. Before the application is taken to the Admissions Committee, the Admissions Office must receive:
- The student application form completely filled out and properly signed.
- The $25 application fee.
- Two recommendation forms completely filled out & signed. ( Downloadable/Printable PDF)
- Applicant’s standardized test scores.
- Applicant’s transcript from previous schools(s). ( Downloadable/Printable PDF)
- Applicant’s discipline and attendance records from previous school(s).
- Financial information forms
3. Review of the application packet will be done and the applicant will be notified by mail.
Application may be completed through the mail or by online submission through the website but all items from #2 must be received before acceptance is granted.
