Academics
Thunderbird Adventist Academy is a private school that is governed by its own School Operating Board under the direction of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The mission of the Seventh-day Adventist educational system is to prepare young people for success in the 21st century and beyond.
The accreditation standards are rigorous. TAA is accredited with the Western Association of Schools & Colleges (WASC); Association of Seventh-day Adventist Colleges & Secondary Schools; and North Central Accreditation Association.
Since 1872, the Seventh-day Adventist educational system has focused on educating the "whole person" while teaching young people not only to excel academically, but to develop healthy bodies and a strong spiritual lives. Because we are a small school, our classroom sizes are smaller where students can receive more personal attention by the teachers and better preparation for college and future accomplishments.
According to Cognitive Genesis, a four-year study following 30,000 students enrolled in Seventh-day Adventist schools across North America, our students score a half-grade level higher in all subjects, but the longer they attend an Adventist school, the more their average achievement jumps - up to the 73rd percentile.
