THUNDERBIRD ADVENTIST ACADEMY
ALUMNI NEWSLETTER
APRIL 3, 2008

Dear Alumni:

It’s here!  Alumni Weekend is now just hours away.  I hope that each of the alumni that attend enjoy the opportunity to get together with their friends and classmates on campus.   I have appreciated so much those individuals who have volunteered to initiate contact with classmates, to help plan meetings or parties or to host parties at their homes.  The weekend would not be what it is without the help of these volunteers/participants:  Kathy Bush (’58), Jan Ghelfi (’57), Ellen Hardin (’47), Virginia Clark (’48), Andrea Chavez (’98), Melissa Howell (’98), Scott Houghton (’88),  Cindy Deland (’78), Nora Moody & Dana Streeter (’88),  Carl (’73) & Kathy Swenson.

GOLF TOURNAMENT REFORMATTED FOR APRIL 6

The 2008 golf tournament has been reformatted and will be happening on Sunday at 8 AM at Legend Trail Golf Club.  Because of local community support for TAA, we have 30 golfers planning on participating and two local businesses have made a large investment in TAA and have helped to make this tournament a reality.

A large “THANK YOU” to  Currier Construction (of Phoenix) and Old World Marble & Tile (of Scottsdale) for their continual support of TAA through their sponsorship of the tournament and their donation of time, services, and equipment for many of TAA’s project this year.

ALUMNI CONTACT FORMS

All of the honor class alumni should have received in the mail during March an “Alumni Contact Form”.  The Alumni/Development Department will continue to take these throughout the weekend.  The 2008 Alumni Memory books will be put together after Alumni Weekend and sent out to those interested in receiving one.

There have been lots of last minute forms being returned to the office.  Thanks Alumni for your support!

ALUMNI WEEKEND REGISTRATION

One of the biggest complaints I receive during the year from some alumni is “Why don’t I receive information about TAA?”  The main reason is that TAA does not have accurate records of all alumni.  This year the school has purchased computer database software and with the help of student workers, we are manually taking the old paper copy records and entering the data into the new program.  As this is happening we are also finding out that much of the contact information is old and we need new addresses, phone numbers, email addresses.

So when you register at Alumni Weekend, please take the time to complete a registration form.

Special Alumni Offering 2008
The alumni offering last year allowed the school to purchase a new interactive white board for the history classroom.  This year a variety of opportunities (including new programming and improvement projects) will also be presented to the alumni during the church service.

TAA continually seeks the financial support of the Arizona Academy and TAA alumni to help the advancement of Christian education in Arizona.
